Dear Friends,

Please know that I care about you and am praying for your health and well-being as we journey together through this COVID-19 crisis.

If you need anything — a trip to the store, a phone call during this time of social isolation, the chance to pray with others over the phone, a worship service to join on your phone or computer — please call or email to let us know.

Our church buildings may be closed, but always remember — the Church is not closed. WE, all of us and each one of us, are the Church. We are Christ’s body in the world. And the world needs our love — Christ’s love in us and through us — more than ever right now.

So please keep praying and, if you are able, doing what you can to care for the poor, the hungry, the sick and the powerless. Together we are the Church, and Christ is in our midst, no matter what.

I am keeping office hours and can be reached on my cell phone any time at 443-752-9684. Please do not hesitate to call me.  In the meantime, may we together feel the assurance and call of these words of prayer from the New Zealand Prayer Book,

God of the present moment,

God who in Jesus stills the storm

and soothes the frantic heart;

bring hope and courage to all

who wait or work in uncertainty.

Bring hope that you will make them the equal

of whatever lies ahead.

Bring them courage to endure what cannot be avoided,

for your will is health and wholeness;

you are God, and we need you.

This we pray in Christ our Lord. Amen.
